Woman in both Management and Board positions in SACCOs add up to 31%. this is due to lack of exposure or awareness or intentional mentorship opportunities and stack mindset.The woman mentorship program will increase the number of women in SACCO leadership by 10% by 2027.
Program Brief
The WMP is an echo program of the CDF WMP: an initiative by the alumni of CDF Women mentorship program underUCSCU in partnership with ACCOSCA and other mobilized Partners through a double Crose it is a unique professional development opportunity for women leaders in SACCOs.The program gives ladies and opportunity to access credible mentorship and exposure from credible professional leaders of experience in the SACCO sector nationally and internationally.
Ladies who graduate from the program have an opportunity of strategic networking and professional growth and exposure to both internal and external mentorship and empower each other at their work places.
The woman mentorship program run by Uganda Cooperative Savings and Credit Union (UCSCU)in partnership with both ACCOSCA and UCSCU stakeholders who share the same vision identified by both ACCOSCA and UCSCU at International and National level respectively.
General Objective
To create a pool of empowered women leaders with capacity to build equal contributors in their workspaces through leadership roles in cooperative
Specific Objective
Eligibility
Women in SACCO leadership(CEOs, Generalmanagers,Heads of Departments,Supervisors and staff in decision-making positions) actively working in the day-to-day operations in a SACCO.
Program Duration
The program is run annually one cohort payer 5 days of residential training Monday to Friday this includes 4 days of classroom training and one day of fields visit to selected SACCOs. Participants arrive on Sunday 19th.
Target Group and Number of Participants
a maximum of 20 LADIES per cohort
Proposed Timelines
Cost
This is a full board training for a week.
Each participant is expected to make a contribution of One million, Three Hundred thousand shillings towards program costs.
Participants will also meet their travel expenses to and from the training venue before and after the training.
