The Role of I.T in Modern SACCO Management

The current challenges facing our SACCO members have revealed to us the need to adopt Information Technology (I.T.) as a means to ease communication, financial reporting, auditing, efficient financial transaction, and records management. Owing to the various difficulties that many of our members continue to face in realizing the benefits that accrue from adopting I.T.-related gadgets, and systems, UCSCU has seen the need to prepare training towards increasing I.T. adoption in modern SACCO management.

The training shall be conducted on the theme:

Title: “The Role of I.T. in Modern SACCO Management.”

Date: 15th October, 2021. Time: 10:00am to 4:00pm. Fee: 50,000/= per person.

This theme on I.T. has been chosen because our members need to appreciate I.T. adoption and also entrench its practices such that their SACCO management duties can be eased.

The training intends to focus on a key component of how to utilize telecommunication gadgets to support communication, data storage, retrieval, auditing, reporting, and accountability.

The training shall be organized into two major sessions:

Morning session (10:00am to 1:00pm) shall cover the discussion on I.T. in modern SACCO

management.

Afternoon session (2:00pm to 4:00pm) shall cover the practical application of I.T. compliant gadgets in

SACCO management; this shall be done in the UCSCU Academy computer laboratory.

We hope to utilize this opportunity to introduce the UCSCU Management Information System (MIS) and also the Core Banking System (CBS), as key ingredients in I.T. adoption.

The Training Session shall be facilitated by Mr. Silver Kayondo, a respectable lawyer and consultant in

I.T. adoption for Financial Service provides such as SACCOs and other Financial Institutions.
